I am doing a PhD in biology and pursue photography in my free time.
I used to photograph only as a means to catch visual memories of my travels. It happened during my PhD that I needed something to remind me there was more outside there than what I come to see day by day in the laboratory. So I picked up my camera and discovered shooting photographs is also a lot of fun when you're home. Trying to find beauty in ordinary things changed my perspective of what I see everyday.
One thing led to another, I grew a passion for photography and now I spend a lot of my free time taking pictures. It's a lot of fun.
By the way, the guy in the picture facing the sea, that is me.
